Creating Web Content is a Key Building Block

Creating content is one of the most important building blocks that your need to construct your internet marketing business. You can be brilliant at SEO, have superb website building and graphic design skills and know just how and where to place your Adsense or other adverts onto your site; but if you can’t create content you won’t get far.

As you build up your business you will soon come to realize that it’s life blood is lots of good quality content. For example you will need content  for the following;

  • To fill up the pages of your website
  • To create sales pages to convince your customers to click the buy button
  • To create reports, ebooks, video courses etc that will be the products that you sell.
  • Etc…….

This thought will invoke one of two thoughts in your head. Some of your will think OMG, I can’t write how am I going to do this. If this is your thought, don’t worry because I will share some thoughts and ideas that will help you below. The second response might be something like..’ I am not to bothered about that, I am quite good at writing so i should be able to do that’. If that was your response, good for you that is an attitude that will help you. But, sorry to upset you, but unless you are extremely prolific (writing-wise) you will struggle to create the amount of content you are going to want to need unless you have a few tips and tricks (and help) up your sleeve.

What I am saying therefore is you will need to employ a few of the methods below if you are going to build that successful internet marketing business. I outline some steps below that you should consider. I have gone into a bit more detail in my free report that you can access by clicking here.

Prepared to have a go at writing yourself? You will still need to write to a structure.

You are not Charles Dickens, and your are not about the write the next great American Novel. You want to be an internet marketer. Sure you need an easy, accessible and friendly writing style. But stunning originality and artistic genius is not required. Hence use the methods that have been successful for other top internet marketers over the years.

The writing / content creation process is a two step process. Initially you need to decide what the content is about. Secondly you need to actual create that content.

As you ultimately want to create products that sell, your content idea has to be about something that people are interested in and would ultimately be prepared to spend money on…..

Need Some help with your content creation? Adapt / rewrite existing  ideas.

Lets be clear upfront. I am not advising that you steal other peoples work and pass it off as your own. That is wrong and bad….and likely to be illegal.

No, what I am suggesting is that you use explore the mass of copyright free resources that you can access and use them as inspiration, or the basis of your content. I am primarily talking about using the following two sources of information;

  1. Public Domain Content - There is vast amount of information that is no longer, or has never, been protected by copyright.
  2. Private Label Rights (PLR) – You can buy the rights to reports, articles and other content that has been created by someone else. and use it as if you were the author.

Some of this material you could simply copy and use  however that is not really a long term business model, and many other pepole will have access to the same information. The result will be lower and lower prices. For example you can download free of charge all the major works of literature (Pride and Prejudice, all of Charles Dicken’s Novels etc) if you know where to look. A few years ago people started to copy them onto disc to sell on ebay, or to load them onto Kindle. The result is the sale price in those formats plumeted.

The best way to use PLR and Public Domain content is to take it as inspiration. Use it as the basis for your content, but rewrite or put your particular spin on  it. You have then created your own work, but without all the ‘heavy lifting’.

If  rewriting  PLR and Public Domain still scares you, then your final option is outsourcing.

There is no shame in this option. Almost certainly at least one of the IM building blocks will be something you just cant handle. With me its graphics. If with your its writing / product creation don’t worry. Simply Outsource it. Take a look at sites like Fiverr, or Elance. If you know what content you need there are people on these sites who will create it for you at a very affordable price.
