One of the best ways to start making money online is to make money with adsense. Contrary to what a lot of newbies think, it is easy to set up and once registered you can get ads relevant to your sites content visable within minutes.

There are two main ways to get Adsense onto your website. If you are using WordPress, and especially if you have a premium theme, then you are likely to have an Adsense option or widget built into your theme. Check out your themes FAQ’s or set up video’s for full details, but it will normally involve you simply entering your Adsense publisher number (which will look something like this ‘pub-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx’) into the theme / widget and selecting the type of ad unit you want.

When selecting the type of ad unit the two key things you need to take some time on is that the size fits sensibly into the layout of your site, and that the fonts, background and border colors match those used on the rest of your site. This last point is vital and will make the ads appear a natural part of your site, rather than obviously standing out as ads.

If you don’t have an inbuilt ad unit on your WordPress theme, or if you are working with html, then you will need to generate specific html code to paste into your site. Google make this process straightforward as you can see in their  Adsense instructional video below.
